Fifth Annual DVDPro Discus Awards Finalists Announced – NewYorkDVD Nominated for Best Instructional DVD
NewYorkDVD has been nominated as one of three finalists in the fifth annual DVDPro Discus Awards for distinction in DVD creation sponsored by Emedia Magazine. NewYorkDVD was nominated in the category of Best Instructional DVD for its development of the ‘Getting Started on Guitar’ DVD by Fender Guitars.
The Best Instructional category includes both educational and training DVD titles. The category judges the intent of the DVD disc and how effectively the disc uses the interactive and content delivery capabilities of DVD to provide a useful and informative instruction vehicle.
The Discus Award finalists run the gamut from Hollywood blockbusters to corporate promotions to educational titles, representing work from major studios, small production houses, and even college art students.
“This year’s entries reflect the great diversity of DVD development currently afoot,” said EMedia editor Stephen Nathans. “The titles selected as finalists represent the artistry and craft of the most accomplished pros plying the DVD trade today.”
Judges for this year’s competition looked at more than 100 entries in seven categories including Best Interactive Menu Design, Best Additional Features and Best Overall DVD. Winners will be announced in the August issue of EMedia and on August 6 on the magazine’s Web site, www.emedialive.com.
